Gabrielle envisioned a signature wine to delight foodies- velvet in the mouth yet elegantly balanced. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Syrah was it! Chefs have juxtaposed this wine with a broad range of dishes and whether meat, poultry or fish, the dish was better because of the wine & the wine better because of the dish.
The 2004 vintage is Gabrielle’s first bottling of Juxtaposition. A collectors wine.
Gabrielle believes a great food wine, has firm acidity, the alcohol level is moderate and the oak and tannins are balanced within the structure of the wine. This complex Cabernet Sauvignon has silky tannins, a great mouth feel and presence with a classic Cabernet nose of ripe cherry, black current that carries to the palette with a hint of flintiness and ripe olive. It has an elegant balance, distinctive presence on the palate with generous fruit, complex flavors and supple tannins.
The vineyards are located in Oakville and the southern part of Calistoga in Napa Valley.
The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon goes with so many dishes, from meat to fowl to the sea. And it is great to just sip! It complements prime rib, filet mignon, beef kabobs, steak with mushrooms, carpaccio and lamb sausages. Roasted meats and poultry with Cabernet Sauvignon are a timeless combination.
