Because we had intermitted high heat spikes, some clusters dehydrated making fabulous Cabernet raisins but not good for winemaking- the pickers carefully sorted these grapes away from the plump clusters going into the bins.  Picking is truly an art as you see the crew with their very sharp picking knifes taped to their palm which allows them to work safely at lightning speed.

The crew works like symphony, each person playing their own note in the vineyard, from picking, to sorting, to transporting the 40lb picking bins into half ton harvest bins, to weighing and finally strapping the harvest bins on the truck.

The truck swiftly leaves to deliver the grapes to the crush pad mindful of retaining the grapes at cool temperatures from harvest to de-stemming. This procession assures top quality fruit.
